ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Brie — a mother, a grower, a dreamer, and the hands behind Nurture + Leaf.
Before Nurture + Leaf ever sprouted, there was a garden — and a girl with dirt under her nails.
My love for plants began in the quiet corners of my childhood, but it truly took shape when I discovered the world of horticulture. At nineteen, after a layoff left me searching for direction, I stumbled upon my mother’s old Better Homes and Gardens books. A single article on butterfly gardens sent me outside with a hose and a bag of flour to mark the soil — and by the next month, I had designed and planted my first garden from the ground up.
That spark grew into something much greater. My mom, seeing the passion take hold, enrolled me in the Horticulture Program at San Joaquin Delta College, where I spent two years immersed in plant science, landscape design, and sustainable growing practices. I worked full-time, studied full-time, and earned my CANGC Horticulturist Certification, passing all three sections on my first attempt — a milestone that still feels like a defining root in my story.
Those years taught me more than plant anatomy and soil chemistry; they taught me the language of care — patience, curiosity, and stewardship. It’s a language that continues to guide my hands and heart through every revived pot, every propagation, and every shared bit of green magic here at Nurture + Leaf.
“Where my roots began, the story continues — one leaf, one life, one act of nurture at a time.”
What started as a quiet moment at my kitchen table — surrounded by plants, little hands, and big dreams — has grown into a small, sustainable houseplant business rooted in care, creativity, and community.
My love for plants began long before I was a business owner. It sprouted in the soil of my childhood, bloomed through years of horticulture study, and found its roots in the soft, everyday rhythms of motherhood. Somewhere between nap times, soil under my fingernails, and whispered hopes for the future, Nurture + Leaf was born.
Here, I believe in slowing down.
In honoring the life that already surrounds us.
In giving old pots a second chance, propagating with intention, and tending not just to plants — but to stories. Every leaf, every reused vessel, carries a bit of care and history.
I want this space to feel like a warm greenhouse on a foggy morning — a soft place to land, a reminder that growth isn’t rushed… it’s nurtured.
Whether you find us at a community pop-up, through our online shop, or simply by a shared love of Monstera leaves, my hope is that Nurture + Leaf welcomes you like an old friend. That it reminds you how beautiful it is to grow slowly, intentionally, and with care.

Sustainability First
Honoring what already exists.
We give old vessels new life, grow with less waste, and build greener spaces together. -

Growth is a journey, not a finish line.
We celebrate the messy, beautiful, real process of tending life — leaf by leaf.
Every great partnership starts with a seed — a small moment of connection.
